The Kew Cemetery Memorial Garden Project

The Kew Cemetery Memorial Garden Project

TRANSFORMATIONS. The Kew Cemetery Memorial Garden Project.

The KNLC Introduction to Horticulture course, with funding from the Adult Centre for Further Education, provided for students from Burke & Beyond to acquire skills and build competencies under the instruction of a tutor qualified in Horticulture and Special Education. They worked on developing teamwork, leadership and workplace behaviours.

Commencing February 2018, The students were tasked with transforming an overgrown section of Kew Cemetery into a Memorial Garden.

The Digital Futures crew were on hand to film on location, over the course of twelve months.

Thank You Kew Cemetery Board of Trustees and Staff.

TRANSFORMATIONS. The Northcote Cemetery Project.

The KNLC Horticulture students commenced the project with funding from the Adult Centre for Further Education. The Project aims were to encourage strategic partnerships, programs and initiatives that improve participation and attainment for learners with a disability, connecting to further education and employment pathways.

Commencing July 2018, the Burke & Beyond students were tasked with landscaping and maintaining Northcote Cemetery, a site no longer functioning, but still open to the public.

The Valman Productions Film Crew captured the commencement of the initiative, on location.

Thank You Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust and Staff.
