The Young Carer Project

Introduction

Introduction

January 24th 2017, Recovery Through Film and Food experienced its most successful outing yet. The main hall of LERIDA was packed to the rafters with a gaggle of passionate youngsters, ages 8 to 20, some of whom were previous attendees, keen to have another shot.

They were encouraged to share their lived experience, and tell a story through film based upon ideas that were discussed, conceived and executed on the day. An astonishing array of equipment was again made available, providing hands on access and the freedom to express creativity in a respectful and non-judgmental environment.

A short interview was filmed to gauge what our participants were expecting from the day.

The Day

The Day

10.30am to 12.00pm; our most intensive agenda yet with Brainstorming, Story Development & Storyboarding, Props and Walkthroughs, Experiments with Music & Sound, it was exhausting to say the least.

12.30am to 2.00pm; our Australian Good Food & Travel Guide Award winner, Chef Daniel, selflessly took to the stage with his culinary wizardry and humourous and passionate yet simple approach to healthy eating. Our participants were gob smacked at the mouth watering dishes prepared in front of their youthful eyes.

2.00pm to 5.00pm; a full and exciting, experiential day was completed with the ambitious short film "The Present of Presence".
